To kill poison ivy, use salt mixed in water. Just place the salt and water mixture in a spray bottle and spray on the poison ivy. Never burn poison ivy, the poison can float in the air and get into your eyes and on your skin. Poison ivy also stays on tools that you use.

Poison ivy is a particular type of ivy, right?  Does this work with other types of ivy?

Yes, poison ivy is an ivy, and so is poison oak.

Good question. I imagine so. Trying it on a small plantlet to see what happens may be the answer...

Yes, good idea.  I have a wall at my old property that is covered in the stuff.  So much so that it'll be effecting the wall's foundations.  I really ought to try and get rid of it.

I have noticed many people grow ivy on their structures, whether it be homes or office buildings.  It looks great, but one thing often overlooked besides the effect on the building itself, is the pest issue.  There are many pests that thrive when plants are grown too close to buildings, especially rats and mice!
