  Can anyone ID this plant? it grows outdoors in Michigan, this is all I know

The picture you provided may be Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum).  The Giant hogweed is a dangerous plant that has infested Michigan as well as many other States.  You can read more about it at the Michigan Department of Agriculture web site (http://www.michigan.gov/mda/0,1607,7-125-1568_2390_34686---,00.html), or by reading the Michigan Department of Agriculture Giant Hogweed brochure (http://www.michigan.gov/documents/MDA_Hogweed_Brochure_2_115074_7.pdf).
