Youngsters get hands-on gardening experience at Cesar Chavez Library
Valerie Henderson, library clerk at the Steinbeck Library branch, Thursday afternoon helps Naomi Nolasco, 5, plant a marigold in a pot at the Cesar Chavez Library branch. Henderson, who has worked in the past as a horticulturalist, had 30 children in the beginning gardening program at the library.
