To remove aphids, spray plants with strong mint tea (1 part mint to 4 parts water, steeped and strained) or plant juice made from infected leaves makes an effective spray.

Gently wiping the leaves and stems with cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol is an effective means of controlling aphids or mealy bugs, especially if they are not too abundant.
