| Easy to grow in warm semi-desert regions, these fascinating succulents deserve wider use. Sharp-pointed succulent leaves form a compass rose. Each plant measures less than 4 inches, but colonies form a cushion up to 2½ feet high. Tiny flowers bloom in bundles of 3, with twisted yellow-green petals. Give them a dry sunny spot with well-drained soil, and let the soil nearly dry before watering. Good in shallow containers. Best with winter temperatures above 50 to 55º F. Easily grown from seeds, by division, or from offsets from the base of flower stems. |
