Abronia villosa

Desert Sand Verbena

Often grown in the light sandy soil of the southern Midwest and Western states, these low or trailing plants root quickly where they touch the soil. Their red, yellow or white flowers look similar to true Verbena and are fragrant only at night. Use them in borders or sunny wild gardens in mild climates. Good for erosion control.
