Acmena smithii
Lilly Pilly, Eugenia smithii, Lili-Pili Tree
Plant these evergreen shrubs or small trees for a long-lasting winter display of showy edible berries in shades of white, lavender or orchid-pink. Shiny leaves and clusters of small, fluffy white flowers, sometimes tinged with green, add appeal. Give them full sun, deep, rich soil and plenty of water. Can be trained to grow as a tree, reaching 10 to 25 feet high. If not trained, the shape tends to be ungainly. |

Clusters of purple berries highlight the green to pinkish-green foliage in winter. Plant in partial shade. Good near the ocean, as it is resistant to salt spray.
