Antirrhinum majus 'Floral Showers Mix'
Snapdragon
Snapdragons live up to their name -- when pinched at the base, their spicy cinnamon-scented flowers open and close like jaws snapping. Unsurpassed for vivid color when used in masses or edging, they are also good for vertical spot color. The flower spikes bloom from bottom to top and make excellent cut flowers. Available in many types and colors, dwarf varieties grow from 4 to 9 inches tall, intermediate varieties from 12 to 24 inches and tall varieties from 30 to 36 inches tall. Double-flowering forms have open-faced Azalea-like blossoms. Colors include bronze, burgundy, carmine, crimson, orange, scarlet, pink, rose, yellow and white lilac. Seeds and plants come in single or mixed colors. In warm winter areas, plant in fall for winter and early spring blooms. Watch old plants survive winter to flower again in spring. Pinch young plants to encourage branching and increased flowering. Stake taller varieties. Plant new plants in locations different from the old ones. |

Rounded masses of early-blooming flowers, 6 to 9 inches tall. Colors include, copper, crimson, bicolor lavender and white. Excellent for formal bedding. Maintain shape during extreme heat.
