Brunfelsia pauciflora

Yesterday-Today-and-Tomorrow

These largely evergreen shrubs and small trees have large fragrant flowers and leathery leaves. White blooms fade to yellow and purple flowers fade to white. Grow in clusters or alone. These tropical natives are not frost hardy and need high humidity. For the best bloom, grow in pots in a temperate 50 to 55º F greenhouse. They need rich soil and lots of fertilizer. Pinch growing tips. Prune and shape in spring. Start new plants from softwood cuttings.
