Calylophus hartweggii

Native to the dry states of the Southwest, these water-saving flowering plants make good small area ground covers. Their bloom looks similar to their Primrose relatives. Plant between boulders or in rock gardens.

Prized for its yellow, 1-inch-wide flowers, this plant has a long blooming season. Grows 8 inches tall and 2 feet wide in almost any soil. Prefers bright light or afternoon shade. Its cold hardy, but stems should be cut back in winter.
