The blue of this care-free perennial blends well in the flower border with most colors, but especially yellow and white. The foliage is a low rosette of silver-gray leaves and the flowers, daisylike. Plant in masses. Goes well with Artemisia. Use cut flowers fresh and dried. Plants are short-lived and need well-drained soil. The common name comes from the Greeks who used it in love potions. Easily grown from seed in spring. Plant 1 foot apart. Replace or divide every two years.

These 2-foot plants also bloom in white, a blue-and-white bicolor, and 'Major', an extra-tall blue variety. Drought-tolerant. Wet soil in winter can be fatal to this plant.
