Cephaelis tomentosa

The small, trumpet-shaped flowers on these 100 species of shrubs and small trees are borne in heads above oval leaves. Native to tropical America, Africa and Asia. Require excellent drainage. Plant in a compost of sandy soil, fibrous peat, leaf soil and lumpy loam.

This shrub is covered in hairy, 10-inch-long leaves. Bright red bracts surround the yellow flowers. Fruit is blue.
