Crinum x powellii

This tall-growing, free-flowering bulb is a cousin to the graceful amaryllis. In mild climates, these add a tropical touch to flower beds and at watersides. Lily-shaped flowers usually appear in spring or summer, but Crinum macowanni produces sweet-smelling pink or white flowers in autumn. Plant in light shade in humusy soil 6 inches underground, and give plants plenty of room. All parts of the plant are toxic.

Usually have dark pink, fragrant flowers, but some cultivars have white or lighter shades of pink flowers. All plant parts are poisonous.
