Cunninghamia lanceolata 'Butternut'

Common China Fir

These coniferous, pyramid-shaped evergreens are relatives of the Redwoods from Asia. The stiff, pointed leaves have a broad white band beneath. Leaves are spirally arranged. Female cones are narrowly winged, while male cones grow in clusters. Grow in mild climates, and shelter from strong winds. Damaged by cold temperatures, but can resprout new branches from trunk.
