Mountain Avens

They are ideal for rock gardens, on banks or walls or as a groundcover wherever summers are cool. These wide-spreading evergreens grow only about 3 inches tall, with woody stems, oak-like leaves and cup-shaped flowers. Plant in gritty, well-drained soil mixed with crushed limestone and peat moss.
