Eranthis hyemalis

Winter Aconite

Use these early spring bloomers like crocuses, planted in groups or drifts in front of perennial borders, in rock gardens or under trees and shrubs. Winter Aconite has pretty, buttercup-like flowers that look good with snowdrops, scillas and grape hyacinths. Plant in moist, porous soil in light shade. Because the growing season is short and foliage dies early, oversow the areas these occupy with Alyssum.
