Gaura lindheimeri

These durable, long-lived North and South American native perennials are drought-tolerant. A deep taproot enables them to survive in hot, dry climates. Well-drained soil is essential. An occasional deep watering during dry seasons improves their appearance. Use in informal borders. Start by seed or division of mature plants. Remove spent flower stalks to lengthen blooming and prevent self-sowing.
