Gentiana acaulis

Trumpet Gentian

Gardeners who grow these for their dazzling, deep blue flowers must be willing to work for their reward. Although many grow wild in North America, few respond to cultivation. Gentiana asclepiadea, Gentiana andrewsii and Gentiana semptemfida are the exceptions. They adapt well to cool gardens, light shade and slightly acidic soil. Use in rock gardens.
