Geranium sanguineum

Bloody Cranesbill

Popular, hardy Geraniums have multitudes of long-blooming, intensely colored flowers and dense mounds of lobed leaves. Excellent border, rock garden or woodland plants. The common name of the Cranesbill refers to the beaklike fruit. See Pelargonium for the showier indoor/outdoor plants most commonly known as geraniums. Most thrive in full or partial sun, and plants often remain evergreen. Protect plants in warmer climates from hot afternoon sun. Most are grown by seed or division.
