Valuable for late summer and early fall color and cutting gardens, they like full sun and tolerate wet soil. Their disk-shaped flowers bloom in yellow, red-brown, or red-purple. Use in the back of borders or as background in wild gardens. Pinch ends for bushier plants. Heavy flower production requires staking. Divide every 2 to 3 years to maintain vigorous plants.
An old favorite, this variety has reddish brown flowers with prominent centers with tints of orange as they fade.
