Iochroma cyaneum

Delightful, hassle-free shrubs, their long dark-green leaves are graced in summer with drooping clusters of rosy purple to pink tubular flowers. They grow quickly and can be trained up a wall or latticework. Best with full sun and little or no frost, but those in containers can winter in a greenhouse. Prune for shape or size after flowering. Water generously spring to fall, much less in winter. Feed rootbound pots from spring to fall with diluted liquid fertilizer. Root easily from cuttings. Susceptible to measuring worm.
