Lantana montevidensis

Trailing Lantana, Weeping Lantana

These tall shrubs and ground covers have long-blooming flowers. The many hybrids and cultivars offer a wide range of flower color and plant size. The warm-colored blossoms and berries attract butterflies and birds. Need full sun and warmth for vigorous growth and flowering and occasional deep watering once established. In harsh winters, they lose their leaves. Use ground covers to control erosion or trail out of hanging baskets or containers. Prune to shape and to encourage new growth. In shade, watch for mildew.
