Lonicera japonica 'Purpurea'

Purple Leaf Honeysuckle

This is a popular group of evergreen or deciduous shrubs and twining vines with showy, tubular, often sweetly-scented flowers. Most are easy to grow, though vines may need support at the start. Hummingbirds like the fragrant flowers, and birds eat the seeds and fruit. Prune to control growth. Start by seeds or cuttings.
