Myoporum parvifolium

Prostrate Myoporum

Some of these Pacific island natives are shrubs and trees used as windbreaks in warm climates. Others are ground covers, good at carpeting banks. All are tough and fast-growing. Glossy evergreen foliage is fire-retardant and dotted with small bell-shaped flowers. They tolerate coastal conditions, but not frost. Give some water during dry periods.
