Narcissus 'Trevithian'

Daffodil

Their bright-colored flowers have been a symbol of spring since ancient times. Easy to grow, versatile, and rewarding, Daffodils are hardy in cold and heat, and their bulbs multiply in the ground every year. Gophers do not like them. Superb as cut flowers. Plant them under shrubs and trees, near water, and in beddings, borders, woodland, and rock gardens and containers. You can force bulbs to bloom in winter by starting them indoors. The many species and hybrids offer a wide range of flower types including the large Trumpets, frilly Doubles, miniatures, and pink- and multiple-flowering Jonquil hybrids. Expand your blooming season by planting early-, mid-, and late-blooming varieties. Plant in fall so flowers can open to the spring sun. Good drainage is essential. After bloom, remove foliage only when mature and yellowed to ensure next year's flowers.
