Nolana paradoxa 'Snowbird'

Let these pretty trailing plants spill over a rock terrace, edge a border, fill a hanging planter or windowbox. Stems 6 to 12 inches long bear trumpet-shaped flowers with contrasting throats. Most are annuals. A few are perennials. Nolana paradoxa Blue Bird has deep sky blue bells with white throats. Cliff Hanger's are cornflower blue with pale yellow. Snowbird blooms in pure white. Give a sunny spot with very well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Potted plants do well in a cool conservatory. Sow in spring, 12 inches apart. Handle a wide range of temperatures and tolerate drought.
