Golden Bamboo

These running Bamboos are moderate- to giant-sized grasses. Their underground stems send up vertical shoots and form large groves. Delicate leaves give shoots an airy appearance. Use as screens, edges or background plants. Some types are grown in large containers. Shelter from drying winds. In hot areas, protect from afternoon sun.

Dense branches of dark green foliage on stiff, upright, brilliant yellow, polished stems make this an especially good screen. Needs ample water. Reaches 10 to 25 feet tall and wide.
