Ruta graveolens

Common Rue, Herb of Grace, Herbygrass

The feathery blue-gray leaves and tiny yellow flowers of Rue contrast nicely with the green foliage of other herbs, perennials and shrubs. Use it as an aromatic background plant. Once thought to have medicinal benefits, Rue is not safe to eat. Its decorative dried seed clusters are used in wreaths. Available in the herb or perennial sections of nurseries. Grown from seed but superior, bluer varieties start from cuttings. Plant transplants one foot apart.
