Schefflera actinophylla

Australian Ivy-Palm, Octopus Tree, Queensland Umbrella Tree

Grown outdoors as large shrubs to small evergreen trees in warm and temperate climates, Scheffleras are also favorite houseplants. Their tropical look comes from palmlike groups of leaves on long stalks. Some types reach more than 6 feet tall. Grow about 1 foot per year. Best in high humidity and moderate warmth. South light best. Mist and water often indoors. Big leaves produce lots of oxygen and clean air of pollution.
