Xanthisma texana 'Flower Power'
Sleepy Daisy, Star-of-Texas
This single species offers lemon yellow, daisylike flowers for mixed beds, borders, and native plant collections. Easy to grow, these flowers like to take it easy, too. They do not open until well into the morning, and fold their petals up in late afternoon, earning the nickname Sleepy Daisy. Good in informal bouquets. Sow in spring, choosing a sunny location with any well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Stake stems for cut flowers. |

Commonly called the Star-of-Texas, it has bright green foliage and a profusion of large, perfectly formed bright yellow and star-like flowers.
