Gardening provides hope, a hobby for inmates at women's jailOn the first day of the first gardening season, Linda Pacheco thought all of the omens were bad. Approval was delayed. It arrived in July along with shovels and a string of 90-degree days. The ground had baked hard on the day when Pacheco, an educator at the Bristol County House of Corrections, went into the women’s jail to ask for volunteers.
