Blooms become large, pointed seed pods that are used in dried flower arrangements. Mature pods split open, exposing seeds tufted with silky hairs. Start by seed or root cuttings. Easy to grow in full sun.

A popular perennial with intense, waxy, or orange blossoms, Butterfly Weed needs well-drained, sandy, dry soils. Spring growth starts late, so do not water or disturb the dormant plant.
