Cinnamonum camphora

Camphor Tree

Because of their aromatic leaves and wood, these trees are often used in woodworking or for producing camphor. However, they also offer year-round beauty. Their spring foliage is pink to red or bronze, and turns to a glossy light green. A large, wide-spreading tree, it needs plenty of space to grow. Use in large lawns or where shallow competitive roots will not break pavement or disturb other plants. Leaf drop, flowers, fruits and twigs all produce litter.
Cinnamonum camphora, Camphor Tree
New rose-pink foliage arrives with small yellow flowers. In autumn, leaves turn yellow and crimson before dropping. Thrives in desert heat. Its wood is the source for camphor.
