Loropetalum chinense rubrum 'Razzleberri'

Only 1 species of these tender evergreens, Loropetalum chinense, is cultivated. It is a medium-sized shrub grown outdoors in warm regions. Use in beds, hanging baskets, woodland gardens, or as a ground cover. A good companion plant for Azaleas and Rhododendrons. Prefers cool, gritty, moist soils. Protect from hot afternoon sun.

New from Asia, its ribbon-like flowers are raspberry pink. New growth is brugundy red, turning green with age. Heavy bloom in spring, with occasional flowers throughout the year.
