White leaves are 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches wide with green stripes. Pink blush of new growth bleaches out by summer. Early summer, tufts of soft white flowers extend 12 to 18 inches above foliage, maturing to light brown. Foliage fades to beige with frost, accenting the winter garden. Best in moist, fertile soil.
