Citrus limon

Lemon

Mornings would not be the same without juices, like orange or grapefruit, from citrus trees. And summers without lemonade? These shrubby trees produce edible tropical fruits. They have thorny stems and fragrant white flowers that attract bees. Grow in warm climates outdoors or in containers brought in during winter. All types need citrus fertilizer, which has supplemental amounts of iron, magnesium and zinc. Ornamental and dwarf varieties are available. Protect from strong winds and frost.
Citrus limon, Lemon
Grown only in warm areas, flowers are followed by juicy yellow fruits. Reaches 20 to 25 feet tall and wide. Water deeply all year, especially when fruit is ripening. After tree is established, thin out branches and remove dead wood. Soggy soil inhibits growth.
